Is There a Quick Way to Learn to Do Legal Research?

In my 85 minute, professionally produced and edited video tape I take you through every major law book, show you how to use the cross reference features in them, and teach you a variety of research strategies. I teach you the fundamentals of what resources are available in the law library and how each of those resources work. I explain how to find the applicable rules, statutes, legal forms, for every kind of case including domestic relations and child custody. You see the outside and the inside of the actual books. You learn how Sheppard’s works. You learn how to find applicable case law to your case, whether it is federal or state. You’ll learn where to find free or inexpensive law books as well as sources of law books that are convenient to you. After the editing was done what remains is 85 minutes of nothing but meat.
This video is endorsed by three nationwide law organizations. Several who have purchased the video have commented that they would have been better off buying the video instead of taking the paralegal course that they did. One certified paralegal commented that the tape should have been used at the paralegal school she attended. Apparently they didn’t spend much time on the nuts and bolts of using the law library. Another man who has been involved in various legal disputes spanning the last 30 years and having watched a lot of videos related to those disputes said that it was the best he’s ever seen. Another person said that he had to watch the video three times and that on the third time he was still making notes. At $75 it is a steal!
On the end of this video I have placed home pages available on the internet where you can obtain nearly all of your research:
1) in a searchable format,
2) that can be copied onto your hard drive in a digital format,
3) for either free or a nominal fee.
When you come to these you may want to pause your video player and jot down the locations of these pages.
Computers have a way of leveling the playing field when it comes to dealing with an adversary in law. If you don’t already know how to do this, we suggest you learn how.
Included in this video are the homepages for: United States Code; Code of Federal Regulations; Federal Rules of Evidence; Federal Rules of Civil Procedure; Case law for all 50 states, plus all of the federal circuit courts, and the United States Supreme court decision going back to 1930′s for a nominal fee; two different homepages pulling together in one place all of the free law related homepages for all of the states and federal and organized them in one place as clickable links; homepages on a large collection of links to state court rules; link to Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure; a source for books dealing with child custody; qualifications to practice law in the various jurisdictions; internet brief bank; source of free legal forms, sample complaints; law school homepages; info. on patents; help locating expert witnesses; collection of articles and stories about legal fundamentals; legal self-help home page; help filing a federal lawsuit without the help of an attorney; law library association; page dealing with personal injury and wrongful death; page on how to find and hire the right lawyer; page devoted to helping you do legal research on the internet; page devoted to tracking IRS activities around the nation; page devoted to documents related to law, history and diplomacy; U.N. treaties; and access to law review articles.
