From the Book of Luke chapter 13:

1JUST AT that time there [arrived] some people who informed Jahushuwah about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.

2And He replied by saying to them, Do you think that these Galileans were greater transgressors than all the other Galileans because they have suffered in this way?

3I tell you, No; but unless you repent (change your mind for the better and heartily amend your ways, with abhorrence of your past transgressions), you will all likewise perish and be lost eternally.

4Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them–do you think that they were more guilty offenders (debtors) than all the others who dwelt in Jerusalem?

5I tell you, No; but unless you repent (change your mind for the better and heartily amend your ways, with abhorrence of your past transgressions), you will all likewise perish and be lost eternally.

From the Book of Jonah chapter 1:

1NOW THE word of Jahuwah came to Jonah son of Amittai, saying,

2Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and proclaim against it, for their wickedness has come up before Me.

3But Jonah rose up to flee to Tarshish from being in the presence of Jahuwah [as His prophet] and went down to Joppa and found a ship going to Tarshish [the most remote of the Phoenician trading places then known]. So he paid the appointed fare and went down into the ship to go with them to Tarshish from being in the presence of Jahuwah [as His servant and minister].4But Jahuwah sent out a great wind upon the sea, and there was a violent tempest on the sea so that the ship was about to be broken.

5Then the mariners were afraid, and each man cried to his god; and they cast the goods that were in the ship into the sea to lighten it for them. But Jonah had gone down into the inner part of the ship and had lain down and was fast asleep.

6So the captain came and said to him, What do you mean, you sleeper? Arise, call upon your God! Perhaps your God will give a thought to us so that we shall not perish.

7And they each said to one another, Come, let us cast lots, that we may know on whose account this evil has come upon us. So they cast lots and the lot fell on Jonah.

8Then they said to him, Tell us, we pray you, on whose account has this evil come upon us? What is your occupation? Where did you come from? And what is your country and nationality?

9And he said to them, I am a Hebrew, and I [reverently] fear and worship Jahuwah, the God of heaven, Who made the sea and the dry land.

10Then the men were exceedingly afraid and said to him, What is this that you have done? For the men knew that he fled from being in the presence of Jahuwah [as His prophet and servant], because he had told them.

11Then they said to him, What shall we do to you, that the sea may subside and be calm for us? For the sea became more and more [violently] tempestuous.

12And [Jonah] said to them, Take me up and cast me into the sea; so shall the sea become calm for you, for I know that it is because of me that this great tempest has come upon you.

13Nevertheless the men rowed hard to bring the ship to the land, but they could not, for the sea became more and more violent against them.

14Therefore they cried to Jahuwah, We beseech You, O Jahuwah, we beseech You, let us not perish for this man’s life, and lay not upon us innocent blood; for You, O Jahuwah, have done as it pleased You.

15So they took up Jonah and cast him into the sea, and the sea ceased from its raging.

1AND THE word of Jahuwah came to Jonah the second time, saying,

2Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach and cry out to it the preaching that I tell you.

3So Jonah arose and went to Nineveh according to the word of Jahuwah…

4And Jonah began to enter into the city a day’s journey, and he cried, Yet forty days and Nineveh shall be overthrown!

1BUT IT displeased Jonah exceedingly and he was

very angry.

2And he prayed to Jahuwah and said, I pray You, O Jahuwah, is not this just what I said when I was still in my country? That is why I fled to Tarshish, for I knew that You are a Creator that is merciful, slow to anger and of great kindness, and [when transgressors turn to You and meet Your conditions] You revoke the [sentence of] evil against them.

Remember, Abraham was given a chance to save Sodom and Gomorrah. He got Jahuwah all the way down to He would preserve those cities if there were only 10 righteous men there. There were not 10 righteous men there and those cities were destroyed. But first, Jahuwah sent three angels to remove righteous Lot and his family from the city.

My 28 years of study of Scriptures such as these tell me that Pat Robertson is not a *&%$#*#% because of his comment about the Haitian earthquake being a judgment coming upon them.

In the Book of Deuteronomy 32 I’ve read:

3 …I concede and attribute to or think of as belonging noble and lofty character to our Mighty Creator. 4 He is the Founder of Yisra’el[1], His deeds are perfect, for all His ways are law and justice.[2] A Mighty Creator faithful in fulfilling promises[3] that will not cause people to suffer hardship or loss undeservedly, He maintains right and dispenses justice.[4]

5 Yisra’el has brought destruction upon themselves.[5]

Into verse 5 above we could insert, Haiti has brought destruction upon themselves; most likely by not putting the Mighty Creator first in everything they did. Since I believe that Jahuwah is a just Creator who will not cause people to suffer hardship or loss undeservedly it is my contention that He gave the Haitians the same opportunity to repent that he gave Neneveh and we just don’t know about it.

[1] Jahuwah is the founder if Yisra’el!

[2] His ways are law-His ways are justice! Justice comes from Jahuwah’s Torah. He is all about law & justice.

[3] Jahuwah fulfills His promises!

[4] He gives you what you deserve.

[5] You did it to yourself!
